Membership is available to individuals aged 13 or over. For members under 18, a parent or legal guardian must complete and sign the registration form on their behalf and agree to be bound by these Terms.
- Non-Transferability: Membership cannot be transferred or shared
2. Membership Activation & Duration
- Activation: Membership becomes active once the registration form (including signed Terms & Conditions) is completed and payment is received in full. Written confirmation will be provided.
- Duration: Membership is valid for 12 months from the activation date.
- Renewal: Membership renews automatically unless cancelled with 30 days’ advance written notice prior to the renewal date. Members will receive a reminder before renewal.
3. Scope of Services
3.1 Services We Provide (Clinical Scope)
Our services include, but are not limited to:
- General primary care concerns suitable for GP management
- Acute, non-life-threatening illnesses
- Management and monitoring of stable chronic conditions
- Preventive health assessments and personalised wellness planning
- Mental health screening and initial GP-level assessment
- Medication reviews and prescribing in line with UK guidance
- Care coordination and referrals to NHS or private specialists
All care is provided following appropriate clinical triage and assessment to ensure it is safe and suitable for virtual or home-based delivery, in accordance with our Inclusion & Exclusion Policy.
3.2 Services We Do Not Provide (Exclusions & Emergency Care)
GETMED UK does not provide emergency, urgent, or hospital-based care.
We do not manage:
- Medical emergencies (e.g. chest pain, stroke symptoms, severe breathlessness, uncontrolled bleeding)
- Conditions requiring immediate ambulance response or hospital admission
- Complex secondary or tertiary care requiring specialist-led inpatient treatment
Patients experiencing emergency symptoms will be instructed to call 999 immediately.
3.3 Included Services (Membership Entitlements)
Membership benefits are outlined in your selected package and may include telemedicine consultations, home visits, concierge liaison services, annual physicals, and other services depending on your membership tier.
3.4 Excluded Services & Additional Charges
Services outside your membership package — including emergency care, hospitalisation, surgical procedures, specialist consultations, additional diagnostic investigations, and medications — are billed separately by the relevant provider.
GETMED UK does not cover charges incurred through NHS Trusts or third-party providers.
3.5 Clinical Scope & Emergency Protocol
GETMED UK is a private primary and elective care service and does not provide emergency medical services. In the event of a medical emergency, you must immediately contact the NHS by dialling 999 or attending the nearest Accident & Emergency (A&E) department.
3.6 Specialist Referrals
While GETMED UK clinicians may assist with referrals to NHS or private specialists, acceptance of the referral and any associated costs remain the sole responsibility of the member.
3.7 Private Prescriptions & Medication Costs
All medications privately prescribed by GETMED UK clinicians are subject to full private prescription charges, payable directly to the dispensing pharmacy.
Medication costs are separate from and in addition to membership fees.
4. Clinical Governance and Data Protection
- Clinical Independence: GETMED UK clinicians retain full clinical independence and professional autonomy. Any treatment, investigation, or referral recommended is based solely on the clinician’s professional judgment and not influenced by the commercial terms of the membership.
- Data Protection (GDPR): Health information will be managed in strict accordance with the UK General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the Data Protection Act 2018, as detailed in the GETMED UK Privacy Policy. Members consent to the secure sharing of relevant clinical data between the assigned GETMED UK clinician and other mandated NHS services (e.g., Summary Care Record, secondary care referrals), where clinically necessary and permitted by law.
5. Controlled Drugs & Prescribing Policy
GETMED UK does not prescribe Schedule 1 controlled drugs under any circumstances.
Schedule 1 substances are drugs with no recognised medical use in the UK and are prohibited for prescribing. These include, but are not limited to: cannabis and unauthorised cannabis-derived products, LSD (lysergic acid diethylamide), MDMA (ecstasy), psilocybin (magic mushrooms), and cocaine (except for highly restricted specialist use, which falls outside the scope of GETMED UK services).
GETMED UK clinicians prescribe medications only in accordance with UK law, NHS Primary Care formulary guidance, and NICE recommendations. Requests for medications outside these frameworks will be declined in the interest of patient safety, clinical integrity, and regulatory compliance.
Controlled Medications
- GETMED UK clinicians adhere strictly to UK prescribing laws, GMC guidance, and national clinical standards.
- Controlled medications will only be prescribed following:
- an appropriate clinical assessment,
- confirmation of patient identity,
- review of relevant medical records where necessary, and
- clear clinical justification in line with NICE, GMC, and UK prescribing standards.
- GETMED UK reserves the right to decline prescribing controlled medications where this is deemed clinically inappropriate, unsafe, or inconsistent with best practice.
- Lost or stolen prescriptions for controlled medications will not be replaced without formal reassessment and, where appropriate, a police report.
6. Fees & Payment Terms
- Membership Fee: Must be paid in full at the time of activation by bank transfer, card payment, or other approved method or paid monthly under an annual commitment plan.
- Additional Fees: Any services not included in the package will attract additional charges, which must be settled prior to or at the time of service.
- Late Payment: GETMED UK may suspend services for unpaid fees. If payment remains outstanding for 30 days, membership may be terminated without refund.
7. Cancellation & Termination
Member-Initiated Cancellation
- Membership may be cancelled at any time with written notice.
- A full refund is available only if cancellation occurs within 14 days of activation and no services have been used.
- If services have been rendered within the 14-day period, their value will be deducted before any refund.
- After 14 days, memberships are non-refundable.
Monthly Payment Plans (Annual Commitment)
- Cooling-Off Period: Members have a statutory 14-day period from activation to cancel their membership and receive a full refund.
- Deduction for Used Services: If services are used within the 14-day period, the value of those services will be deducted before any refund. The deducted value will be calculated based on GETMED UK’s standard published pay-as-you-go rate for non-members for the reasonable cost of the services consumed. After 14 days, memberships are non-refundable.
- Monthly Payment Plans: Members opting for monthly payments agree to a 12-month annual commitment. Cancelling after the 14-day cooling-off period does not release the member from the obligation to complete the annual payment term.
Monthly instalments will continue to be due until the end of the 12-month period. If membership is terminated by GETMED UK due to non-payment or violation of terms, the remaining balance of the annual commitment becomes immediately due. Services may be suspended if payments are missed.
GETMED UK-Initiated Termination
GETMED UK reserves the right to terminate a membership for reasons including, but not limited to:
- Non-payment of fees
- Abusive, threatening, or inappropriate behaviour toward any member of our team, includingverbal aggression, harassment, intimidation, or repeated inappropriate contact—whether in person, by phone, email, written communication, or electronic messaging.
- No refund will be issued in such cases, and future enrolment may be declined.
7. Amendments to Terms & Conditions
GETMED UK may update these Terms at any time. Changes will be communicated to members and take effect immediately upon notification.
8. Governing Law
These Terms & Conditions are governed by the applicable laws of the United Kingdom. Any disputes will fall under the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of the United Kingdom.
